After a 13 hour overnight bus ride (helped along by ambien to sleep!) from San Cristobal, I arrived in Puerto Escondido yesterday. I’ll be here for about 2 months taking surfing classes. It’s nice to be in shorts and flip flops again after being in high altitude evening temperatures which were in the mid 40s (fahrenheit).
I’ll be staying in an amazing, large third floor palapa apartment which has no walls on two sides as the pictures below show. At night it feels a bit like camping as the breezes and night sounds blow through the open walls. It’s basically like living in a tree house! It’s owned by a retired American couple who live on the first floor.
